Whybot vs TypingMind

Whybot is a web app for exploring questions in depth. You ask a why or how question, and the tool responds by generating answers and follow-up questions that branch into related topics. It started as a hackathon project by John Qian and Vish Rajiv and remains a lightweight research companion.

The default setup uses a Researcher persona with the GPT-3.5 Turbo model. You can type your own question, use the random question suggester, or run built-in examples to see how the tool works. A prompt counter on the interface tracks how many queries you have left.

Settings let you switch personas and models to change the tone of responses. The about page notes the project began at the AngelList Agent Hackathon and is still actively maintained with community feedback in mind.
