Afternic (formerly Dan.com)
Afternic (formerly Dan.com) is a domain marketplace owned by GoDaddy where investors list, buy, and sell domain names. Visiting dan.com now redirects to Afternic, which absorbed the Dan.com platform after GoDaddy acquired Dan.com in 2022 and completed the brand merger in 2025.
The marketplace lists over 23 million domains and distributes them through 100+ registrar partners, including eight of the top ten registrars. Sellers get exposure to roughly 125 million monthly domain purchase searches without listing on each registrar separately.
Afternic suits domain investors, portfolio owners, and brokers who want centralized listing, brokerage support, lease-to-own payment plans, and automated transfers. Former Dan.com sellers were migrated to Afternic accounts to continue selling through the combined platform.
