Era
Era is a personal finance platform built for people who already work inside AI assistants. Its core product, Context, is a personal MCP server that links your bank accounts, credit cards, and financial data to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any client that supports the Model Context Protocol. You can ask about balances and spending, set savings goals, and let your agent take action without uploading spreadsheets or switching apps.
Beyond read-only dashboards, Context is a read-write connection. Your agent can send transfers, set automated rules, trigger savings, and manage budgets based on permissions you control. Financial preferences and goals live in Era's shared memory, so context carries over when you move from Claude to ChatGPT or another MCP client.
Era also builds Agency, a native app that monitors finances proactively, and Thesis, an investment research product for individual investors. Era Financial Advisors LLC is SEC-registered, and the company states it never sells user financial data. Revenue comes from subscriptions, not data monetization.
Hooks your real bank and card data into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client without manual uploads
Gives agents read-write access so they can check balances, send transfers, and run savings rules you approve
Stores goals and preferences in shared memory that follows you when you switch AI assistants
Runs a free Basic plan with net worth tracking, spending views, and 250 daily MCP tool calls
Layers Agency on top for proactive alerts and automations, plus Thesis for quantitative investing research
Works with any MCP-compatible assistant, so you are not locked into one chatbot
Read-write access lets agents move money and set rules, not just report balances
Shared financial memory carries goals and context across Claude, ChatGPT, and other agents
Free Basic tier covers two accounts with useful daily MCP limits and no credit card required
Clear privacy stance: Era states it never sells or monetizes personal financial data
Agency automations and Thesis investing tools are still in waitlist or private beta
Some Automate and Operate features, including automated transfers and shared partner views, are marked coming soon
Bank coverage depends on US aggregation partners, which may limit some institutions
Investment advisory services carry standard market risk and are not FDIC insured
Is Era free to use?
Yes. Era's Basic plan is free forever for up to two connected accounts, with net worth tracking, spending views, and 250 agent MCP tool calls per day. Paid plans add faster sync, more accounts, edit access, and higher MCP limits, each with a 10-day free trial.
Which AI assistants work with Era Context?
Any client that supports MCP, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini, Perplexity, and Cline. Era exposes financial data through the same open protocol used for Gmail, Calendar, and Slack connectors.
Can my AI assistant move money or only view balances?
Both. Context is a read-write connection. Your agent can check balances, send transfers, set automated rules, trigger savings, and manage budgets. You control what actions it is allowed to take.
Is my financial data secure on Era?
Era uses bank-grade encryption for data in transit and at rest. It connects to institutions through regulated aggregation partners, does not store bank credentials, and states that user data is never used to train AI models or sold to third parties.
Does Era have a mobile app?
Agency is available as a native mobile app for proactive money management. Context itself works through whichever AI assistant you already use on desktop or mobile, so a separate Context app is not required.
