Agentcard
Agentcard gives AI agents a way to pay online without handing over your real credit card. You fund single-use virtual Visa debit cards with a fixed dollar amount, connect them to an agent through MCP or the CLI, and the card closes after its first charge.
The product is built around containment. Each card is capped at the amount you approve, works only for card-not-present online purchases, and requires human sign-off when an agent requests a new card or sensitive details. Agentcard also ships a Chrome extension that can detect checkout pages and fill card details automatically.
Developers and power users who want Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT to buy API credits, domains, or partner services are the core audience. Consumer plans cover personal agent use; a separate organizations product issues cards at scale via REST API keys.
Single-use Visa cards that close automatically after the first charge
Native MCP tools for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Cursor
Free tier includes 5 cards per month up to $50 each
Chrome extension auto-fills checkout pages with a funded card
Card details encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM per card
Partner checkout flows for DoorDash and Good Eggs from a prompt
Hard spending caps per card mean maximum loss equals the funded amount.
MCP-native setup connects to Claude and Cursor in minutes without custom payment code.
Free tier is usable for light agent purchasing without a monthly subscription.
Cards are single-use only, so recurring subscriptions need a different payment method.
Virtual cards may not work with merchants that require interactive 3DS or SMS verification.
Does Agentcard have a free plan?
Yes. Agentcard's Free plan includes 5 virtual cards per month with a maximum of $50 per card. No subscription is required. The Basic plan costs $15 per month and raises limits to 15 cards per month and $500 per card.
How does Agentcard connect to AI agents?
Agentcard connects through MCP (Model Context Protocol). After installing the agent-cards CLI and running agent-cards setup-mcp, agents get tools like create_card, get_card_details, and check_balance. It also integrates with ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, and OpenClaw from the homepage.
Are Agentcard virtual cards reusable?
No. Agentcard cards are single-use by design. Each card closes after its first charge, so you create a new card for the next purchase. This limits exposure if an agent misuses credentials.
Where can Agentcard virtual cards be used?
Agentcard issues Visa virtual debit cards that work anywhere Visa is accepted online for card-not-present purchases. They are not intended for in-store use, person-to-person transfers, or recurring auto-renewing subscriptions.
How does human approval work on Agentcard?
Agentcard requires you to approve card creation and can notify you before charges go through. Funding uses a hold on your saved payment method via secure checkout, and you can gate sensitive actions like revealing full card details behind approval prompts.
Is there an Agentcard API for companies?
Yes. Agentcard offers an Organizations product with REST API access using sk_test_ and sk_live_ API keys, aimed at platforms issuing cards to many users. Consumer personal use runs through the agent-cards npm package and MCP server.
