Claude 3.5 Sonnet
Claude 3.5 Sonnet is Anthropic's first model in the Claude 3.5 family, released in June 2024. It targets teams that need frontier-level reasoning, coding, and vision in a mid-tier model: faster and cheaper than Claude 3 Opus, but stronger on the benchmarks Anthropic published at launch.
On release day, Anthropic positioned Sonnet as its most capable model yet for graduate-level reasoning, undergraduate knowledge tests, and coding evals.
